The name - Kardalivanam :The second incarnation Shree Nrusinha Saraswati of Lord Datta Guru disappeared(took Samadhi) in this forest. A story in 'Gurucharitra' says that Nrusinha Sawaswati send back flowers of Kardali (Kadali in Telgu). Hence, the place where boat dropped him is called as 'Kardali Van' ('Kardalivanam in Telgu).
Holiness: Place where Sadguru Swami Samarth, the third incarnation of Lord Datta Guru appeared. Further various Saints or descendants(followers) of Lord Datta Guru visited this place several times and left there imprints here.
Message :The natural question that rises in 'mind' is why Lord chose this place? Well answer to that is very simple - Don't try to understand it. Because that isn't important. What one should focus on, is the Sadguru, not anything about Sadguru's whereabouts. Sadguru resides inside you, your heart, mind, body,....all of you. So, think your body is Kardalivanam and your Soul is the Sadguru.
